Pattern: Egyptian Mittens by Tuulia Salmela  from her blog
Yarn(s): Knit Picks Palette
Colorway(s): Ivory & Sky
Needle(s): US 3 / 3.25 mm
Casted On: January 11, 2009
Casted Off: January 25, 2009
Modifications: The pattern called for sportweight yarn and if I were to do this pattern again, I’d likely use that weight. My partner’s hands are fairly small, in comparison so I choose Palette and included a few stitches on the side of the glove. The pattern was written in Finnish but she provides a chart so that’s really all you need, right? I was trying to figure out what a thumb gore is and I was letting it intimadate me so I simplified the thumb pattern. Oh well. Thumb gores aren’t difficult…AT ALL but when you’re trying to read a pattern in another language…

Pattern: A Cardigan for Merry by Anny Purls  from Jujube & Lolo
Yarn(s): Elann Peruvian Highland Wool, 5.5 Skeins, 599 yards
Colorway(s): Violet
Needle(s): US 6 / 4.0 mm
Casted On: November 23, 2008
Casted Off: January 4, 2009
Modifications: This pattern calls for sportweight and size 2 needles. Umm…no! I made it with worsted weight yarn and did the math so the size can match up with the pattern originally written for size 2s.
